5 tips to avoid LP gas theft
At Waddi we know how complicated it is to constantly have to avoid having our gas stolen, and that is why today we bring you 5 tips to avoid it.
The latest news reports that almost 8% of the LP gas sold in Mexico is stolen. This is a very high number indeed, and this turns out to be one of the biggest concerns and uncertainties when it comes to refueling the gas tank you are paying for.
Now, it is common for gas suppliers to take advantage of the lack of knowledge on the subject, so how can I be sure that my tank is receiving the full charge? In this post we seek to bring you as much clarity and transparency as possible when it comes to refueling your stationary gas cylinder. Read on to learn more and avoid gas theft:
Know the tank capacity:
Fundamental! The tank capacity is usually located on the front. The most common ones for houses are 120, 180, and 300 lt. Stationary or portable tanks must always be filled to 80% of their capacity for safety reasons, and never less than 20%. Remember that your tank cannot be filled to its full capacity, because there is a risk of leakage.
If your gas pump told you it was 100% full, this can't be real! At Waddi we look for transparency when it comes to providing you with our refueling service, therefore, at the beginning of the refueling, we take a picture and send it to you.
2. Know the initial % and final % of your gas tank.
Before filling the tank it is important to know the initial percentage of charge if there is still gas in the tank. The percentage indicated on the label must be known. For safety reasons, tanks can never be filled with less than 15% of their capacity.
3. Choose a tool to help you control the gas you are charged.
As you can see, there are several ways to steal fuel; however, nowadays, there are several tools to optimize your home's resources, for example, a smart gas meter that can be installed on your phone. This can be installed on your phone, an application that can be very useful when refueling!
4. Ask to be supplied in multiples.
The best way to request a charge is to ask for 10% of the tank, so that it is easier to calculate, since the amount of gas you will be charged will be multiples of the capacity of your tank. For example, if your tank is 300 lt, what you should ask for is to be charged in multiples of 30: 60, 90, 120, etc.
